We’re the Pension Protection Fund. We protect millions of people in the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. When these schemes fail, we’re ready to help.

We do this by paying our members, by charging a levy and by investing sustainably. Our work has a real impact on people’s lives, so we strive to do it well, with integrity and their future in mind.

We are looking for a qualified Pensions Actuary to join our actuarial team and provide actuarial advice to the Board by carrying out and checking a range of actuarial, quantitative finance or modelling processes.

The role will be responsible for the calculation and sign-off of actuarial models, planning and development of work across teams, making recommendations, implementing process changes and improvements within the team and presenting the results of actuarial work to relevant committees.

Our ideal applicant will be a Qualified Actuary, this could be newly qualified or with post qualified experience, with previous experience of working within the pensions industry.  We are looking for an individual that has the knowledge of relevant actuarial specialities (e.g. risk, valuations, pensions, investments, modelling), who is numerical and has strong analytical skills.  You will be able to plan your workload, deal with conflicting priorities and ensure deadlines are met.

Our Croydon office is just across the road from East Croydon station, which is around 15 minutes from Victoria or London Bridge, 10 minutes from Clapham Junction or half an hour from St Pancras.
